Homemade Granola is a go-to recipe in my house. My kids love eating granola on top of their yogurt with fruit, in a bowl with milk poured over, or just plain!
Once you’ve made homemade granola, you won’t want to go back to the store bought. Yes, it’s that delicious! It’s also a healthier option than the sugar-laden packaged granolas that you buy in the grocery store.

Did I mention that it’s ridiculously easy to make? One bowl and a handful of pantry staples and you have this recipe in the bag.
There’s a million and one variations to a granola recipe. It basically comes down to some combination of:
Oats – Gluten-free is my oat of choice, but if you’re not gluten-free you can sub regular rolled oats instead.
Coconut Flakes: This is a must ingredient in my book. I play around with different types – large flakes or shredded.
Nuts: Your options are endless. I typically use whatever I have on hand in my pantry. Walnuts, pecans, almonds, and cashews are all great options.
Seeds: Chia seeds are one of my favorites for granola and it adds a nice crunch. Consider using sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, hemp hearts, or flax seeds.

Sweetener: Honey is by far my favorite sweetener. Agave nector or maple syrup would also be a good alternative.
Unrefined oil: Coconut does fine at high heat, but avocado oil is also an excellent choice.
Dried Fruit: My go-to is dried cranberries. Use whatever you have on hand. Dried cherries or raisins would be yummy.
Spices and Salt: Salt is a must in this recipe to get the most flavor. Don’t skip this ingredient! Use sea salt for best flavor. Cinnamon adds a great warming flavor. Pumpkin pie spice would be another great option.
